I'm a student of the national university, i'm going to get a bachelor degree this july, my major's foreign languages. I used to work in the US by WorkAndTravel program and I'll go thiss season too. I want to transfer my credits to one of the US Universities. I checked several colleges, and I think it's gonna be too much cost for me, all that I can pay it'll be 4 grand which i'll hope to earn during the summer. What u can advice me to do, can I pay monthly? Can I change J-1(workandtravel visa) to student visa without backtrip to Ukraine, 'cose it's cost too much too( I want to work and study and I want to work a lot 4 pay 4 my education.

Many of your questions will be answered at [International Students - EducationUSA](http://educationusa.state.gov/home)

After you read through this website, you should contact the advising center that is closest to you. If you can’t visit in person, you can consult with the staff by telephone or email. They are the true experts on getting students from your country into good programs in the US.

The rules for studying in the US on a J visa are different from the rules for studying in the US on an F visa. You should read about the regulations that govern both visas at [Visa Types for Temporary Visitors](<a href=“404 - Page Not Found”>404 - Page Not Found)

thx 4 the info.
so can I get another visa while being in the us?

ukr, many of us have greater experience with visa requirements for stays outside of the US rather than stays within the US, for obvious reasons. I suggest you contact the nearest consulate for more information about visas for your trip to the US.

Please note that, in the US, if you contact a university and say you want to transfer, that means something other than what you want. What you want to say is that you’re interested in their post-graduate courses. In other words, you want to “go to grad school” at their university.

If you plan to get a masters degree in the US, there will be very little financial support available to you, as a foreign student. However, if you want a PhD, that’s an entirely different story. Some universities will give you decent funding, if you want a PhD. So when you contact universities, be sure to specify what sort of degree you’re looking for.

i meant masters degree. Did you see the top post? I tried to describe my situation. I’ve a bachelor degree, I’ll go to work by J-1 visa this summer. So what I have to do if I want to study in the US, I mean - Could you give me couple of advices - …1st step 2nd …and so on) and if this’s expensive to continue studying mabe it makes sense to reach the cheap college to another specialty?
