question #9142: Do AP score count matter AT ALL for college admission?

i've got 5 5s on AP exams so far. do they help? if so, how much? i have A's in the corresponding classes.

I would say they matter very little in admissions, espeically when they don't deviate from your performance in the class

I think they help some...it shows colleges your abilities in certain subjects

would you say... a 5 on one subject is approximately equal to a 20 point increase on the sats?

"would you say... a 5 on one subject is approximately equal to a 20 point increase on the sats?"

no

that was.. super helpful, crashingwaves

haha sorry. i just meant that it would be impossible to quantify it like that. the ap grade will really only be used as a comparison to your class grade. is you have an a+ but get a 1 it will raise questions. likewise a B- with a 5 will help you. it has nothing to do with sats.

p.s. congrats on your scores.

It probably won't help you any because you have As in all those classes already. If you only had a B but got a 5, then that might help you.
