Question about 60 transferable units

I go to SDSU and by the end of my spring semester, I will have a total of 63 units. However, 6 of those are 1 unit classes and I'm worried that they won't transfer. If they don't transfer and I'm down to 57 units, you think I could do a class at a CC this summer and make it up?

I'm applying to UCSC, UCD, and UCSB.

what are the 6 total unit classes?

BEGINNING WEIGHT TRAINING

UNVSEM LRNG IN COMMUNTIES (a seminar class for 1st years and basically introduces to that university)

SOC: DISCUSSION AND ANALYSIS (a discussion class for sociology)

Bio Lab

PSY 201 (a seminar class required for psych majors that focuses on career paths)

PSY 271 (a lab that goes along with psych stats)

All but Bio Lab and PSY 271 are credit/not credit.

when you put on those class in your application did it say CCCT?
Also, to check if that courses are UC transferable go to Welcome to ASSIST!

None of the classes said CCCT because I come from SDSU, not a cc.

go to assist.org and you will able to check it out if it's transferable classes or not! But i know weight training is transferable and bio lab.

thanks but unfortunately assist.org doesn't have transfer information for SDSU and the UCs.

try to call UCSC it is 310-889-5704. It's one of the representative and his/her name is Wil Del Pilar

The guy told me that there's no way to tell until the admissions team reviews it. Sooooo I'm just gonna take an extra class for spring worth 3 units that I know will be transferable. Kind of a drag taking 18 units this spring when I might not have to but if thats what i gotta do then do it I shall.

BEGINNING WEIGHT TRAINING - YES

UNVSEM LRNG IN COMMUNTIES - No

I know these for sure. pe classes should be transferable as for the #2 class comparing them to like my cc those don't have transfer credits. as for #3-6 don't know.

ouch! 18 units during spring.... so painful..

heh i sense sarcasm in that last post... 18 units in the spring at SDSU is quite torturous especially when it might all be in vain....also when that extra class is precalc... bleh ohhh welllll I can forfeit a day of partying to a day of studying...well i say that now lol

you won't have a life!!!! HOw come you are trying to transfer out from SDSU?!

Basically the people down here are a little too fake for my likings. It's a great school in terms of academics and research (#1 small research institution in the nation) but the social scene isn't right for me. It's too greek oriented and the girls are way too superficial. I'm more of a UCSC hippie anyway and a bunch of my best high school buddies attend there. I semi enjoy it at SDSU but would enjoy a new location much better.

hmmm.... Sorry to hear that.! hopefully everything goes right for u! G luck w/ ur spring and hav fun at SC!

Most seminar/discussion courses will not transfer however there are some that might. I’m not sure if your courses will or will not transfer. I do know that for most UC campuses the admissions requirements must be completed by the end of the spring term. It is unlikely that summer courses would be allowed to meet the admissions requirement. Please contact the campuses to determine if they would allow this or not.

^^thanks for the post

I decided to take an extra 3 units in the spring that would guarantee at LEAST 60 units completed by the end of the spring. That should clear me out of any holds.
