D is getting very impatient to hear from Pitt. Her application has been complete for over three weeks and she wants to know. She is anxiously checking her email and spam everyday to see if anything has come in from Pitt but nothing has arrived since the email with the link to the short answer questions. Pitt has become her first choice and if she is admitted, she will not bother applying to two schools that have apps due soon. We also have a campus visit scheduled soon at another school that we will cancel if she is accepted.
So she has been checking the My Pitt website and noticed the following. When her app was first submitted, all she could see was the application status and a statement that the application was complete. But this week, she went to the website and could see a lot more. There are now tabs for Student Center, Campus Finances, Searching for Classes, Browsing the Course Catalog, etc. She could see none of this before. She even played with it a bit and searched spring offerings and could see courses, with professors, and number of seats in each section. We are wondering if this means something or if she should have always been able to see this and it was just a computer glitch that she didn’t see it before. There is another school that she applied to where she found out she was accepted by the website changing before she actually received the acceptance. She is wondering if maybe Pitt works the same way. Or is this just wishful thinking and it means nothing than she can see these things now?
