Question about accepting financial aid award...

Hi guys,

So I was accepted into UCR and have been given an estimate for my financial aid, which is looks pretty great! However, I want to hear from all the schools I applied to before making a decision.

So, my question is…and excuse for my lack of knowledge…do I have to submit my SIR to UCR to accept their financial aid award, or can I just accept it without committing to register for the school? The reason I ask is because they gave me a deadline in which to accept my award (April 18), and most of the schools I applied to probably will not send acceptances, let alone awards, until April 30.

Any insight is appreciated, and thanks for your time!

Accepting the award usually has no commitment to the admission unless it specifies on the offering letter. You don’t commit to a school until you pay the deposit by May 1.

Thank you! I wasn’t sure, thanks again for your help!
