If I take the act, do I need subject tests? Does the act replace subject tests and SAT scores? Is the ACT weighted the same in the minds of colleges?

Colleges have equal consideration for ACT and SAT scores, and they look at your highest of the two.

As for the subject tests, are you talking about the SAT IIs? If so, the ACT doesn’t have a version of those subject test. You technically don’t even have to take the subject tests – most students don’t.

It depends on the school. I chose Harvard at random and they require 3 SAT IIs with either the SAT I or ACT. Almost all schools state no preference between the SAT I and ACT.

So check the admissions website for the colleges you are interested in.
