<p>I'm finishing up my application for the UC's and am trying to decide how to use the additional comments. In my personal statements I discussed academics and passions, but did not mention a hardship my sophomore year that affected me personally and academically. Would it be appropriate to discuss this in the additional comments?</p>

<p>so just focus on how it eventually became something positive? will they be annoyed if it starts to sound like another essay? </p>
