Suppose I manage to get in somehow, RD. MIT is my top choice, but because of circumstances, I might not be able to pay for it. If this is the case, would MIT look poorly on my school for it having a lower yield than some? My physics teacher mentioned to me that 5 or 6 ish years back, a lot of students (6, I believe), were accepted from out school, but due to random thing, none of them ended up attending. In the 5 years since, only 3 students from our school have been accepted (including one this year). This could be coincidental and all, but I'd like to make sure I'd have no chance of jeapordizing future student's chances if I end up unable to attend.

This is all purely hypothetical of course though, since chances are so poor that I'll be accepted anyway. :)
