do u guys think that there is any sort of advantage with turning your application early. i know everyone's initial thought would be ofcourse not. but i was thinking: if your app is one of the few hundred read first, it would be better than if you were the last one cause the available slots are tighter.... Especially if by accident a part of your application was lost, and you turn it in past deadline (which is what happened to me)

wow, that is a really inarticulate question. but does anyone have an opinion?

it can't hurt (as far as we all know. and if it can - we'd never know, it be so indirectly connected to you and your app)

almost definitely for schools with rolling admissions - penn state practically shouts "EARLY EARLY EARLY = BETTER CHANCE OF: ACCEPTANCE ACCEPTANCE ACCEPTANCE" off the rooftops...

At state schools with rolling admissions, admissions criteria become more stringent as the year progresses and the colleges run out of space in their freshmen class.

At schools that make all their regular admissions decisions in Feb to April, and start their review and decision-making process after all the apps are in, it usually makes no difference, and you should not assume that they review them in order received. However, there may be other reasons, even for those schools, to get it in early. For example some require apps early, like by October or November 1, for you to be considered for a scholarship

To be considered for top scholarships at BU, your stuff, including scholarship essays, has to be in December 1. Early submission too for some situations at Rice and others.
