Question about admissions.

I want to apply to Cornell next year Early Decision. Unfortunately my GPA isn't amazing with a 3.72. Everything is exceptional luckily with a 2350 on the SAT and great ECs. The problem is that I had almost straight Bs freshmen year and in easy classes, while in my sophomore and Junior years I received all As. How does this present to an admissions officer. Does it show drastic improvement, or laziness?

I would still apply early decision to Cornell. At a 2350, you’re above the 75th percentile for the SAT and the GPA seems just fine to me. However, if you feel that you can significantly raise that GPA in your first semester of your senior year (I would do the math) to a 3.8+, then I would hold off from applying.

But ED has around a 30% acceptance rate vs 12%ish overall.

I would worry more about the lack of rigor curriculum.

no I had a very rigorous classes with all AP but they were still veery easy in freshmen year

That’s much better. I thought you said “straight Bs in freshmen year and in easy classes” (without specifying grades). You should have put “freshmen year” at the end. You should give it a try. At least, you can demonstrate an upward trend in GPA.
