Question about AEM application

What exactly are they looking in terms of the essay? I'm interested in going into business, but ILR isn't exactly my first option. Since the major is in CALS, what do I need to show in order to differentiate myself?

i would think it’s quite self-explanatory.

essentially, it’s: why do you want to go into business (whatever field) and what can Cornell/AEM, beyond any other school, offer you to achieve your goals?

just be honest. unless your real reason is “i want to go into business/finance so i can work for goldman sachs and get lots of money through big bonuses at the expense of the common people of America.” if that’s the case, i’d suggest 1. getting a lobotomy and 2. coming up with a different reason.

It’s not that at all. Although, financial security was a part of the the reason I decided to scrap zoology and instead go into business, which I have a high interest in. I’m really amazed by the power of management, marketing, and all the other aspects of good and service handling; and wouldn’t mind working in the thresholds of a corporation someday. Should I make mention of that major transition in my essay at all? Also, should I sent in my most recent r

Write an essay that encompasses something to do with this from the AEM website…
But that’s not all. We want students who are leaders, team players, creative thinkers, and self-starters. We also want students who share our passion for business and applied economics. Do you dream of starting your own company? Have you set your sights on becoming a top executive at a Fortune 500 company? Are you eyeing a career in the public or nonprofit sectors?
Keep in mind, too, that many of our best candidates have academic interests in multiple academic disciplines.

Look at the AEM website for 5 minutes, including the courses, professors, specializations, and opportunities for you. You should be able to see how AEM is unique from every other business program out there. You should be able to find at least 2 or 3 aspects of the major that really interest you and incorporate that into your essay
