hey guys I'm currently trying to self studying algebra 2 since my school class is really slow
however i want to have a solid foundation when i take pre calc next year. the problem is that the text book i have seems to include pre calc in it so im not sure where to stop. If someone could point me in the right direction? id rather do only as much as i need to considering i have other things to prep for.

buy the great courses series on pre-calc by bruce edwards when it’s on sale for 60-80 bucks and do that instead.

Ok but don’t I need to know algebra 2 in order to start pre calc or can I skip it
I’m pretty much on ch5 on school quadratics

The regular pre-calculus curriculum is mostly things you’ve learned in algebra II, plus a few other topics. If you are familiar with the above topics, pre-calc should be easy for you.

Ok then one more question by finishing all of these chapters would I essentially be ready for math level 2

The curriculum for courses like Algebra II and Pre-Calculus varies from school to school.

A typical Pre-Calculus course covers:

Algebra Review

Functions and Graphs/Transformations

Polynomials & Rational Functions

Exponential & Logarithmic Functions

Trigonometry

TRIGONOMETRY TOPICS INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
- Radian and Degree Measures
- Right Triangle Trigonometry
- Trigonometric Functions of Any Angle
- Graphs of Sin/Cos/Other trig functions
- Inverse Trigonometric Functions
- Trigonometric Identities
- Trigonometric Equations
- Sum and Difference Formulas for Sin/Cos/Tan
- Multiple Angle Formulas
- Law of Sines
- Law of Cosines

You only really need Algebra 2 for the little bit of Algebra your course has. Review Polynomials, Rational/Exponential/Logarithmic Functions.

Ok them thanks so pretty much skip all the trig till I take it in pre calc next year
