It says that for subjects like Bio/Chem/Math, there's a placement test that you can take for credit, instead of taking the AP. So if I skip the AP Chem test on tuesday, and instead take this placement test, will that just bump me from Chem 101 or will it act as though I've taken the class, and give me a college credit?

Why would you skip an AP test you’ve already paid for…?

i only paid a 26 dollar deposit and i haven’t really studied for it due to some outside circumstances. there isn’t the greatest chance i’m going to get a 5 unless i really put my head into it… and even then, how much studying can i get done in 3 days? i just want to know if it’s worth it. i’m really burnt out right now.

i think the placement test will just let you skip 101, not earn credit for it. but i’ve heard the placement tests are pretty difficult, and there is no harm in taking the AP test so why not just try?

Even if you took the AP exam and scored high enough, you would only get “Chem091” credit. It shows up as 1.0CU on your transcript, but does nothing to place you out of 101/102; you would still need to take the placement test for that.

Just a heads up, you’re only allowed to take the placement test once (e.g. if you take it and fail in the fall, you cannot retake it during the spring)
