Question about AP Scores

One's high school sends AP scores automatically right?

No - you have to ask College Board to send them. Most colleges only accept SAT and AP scores directly from College Board. GGT

I thought an official report is sent to the high school and then the school sends copies of that with the transcript.

Remember you don't have to send AP scores until you're accepted

I'm talking about for admission.

don't most apps have spaces for scores? They are usually included in your HS transcript, but there may be a place on the actual app to put AP classes and scores. I don't think there is this space on the Common App. You don't send an official AP transcript from CB until you are accepted.

Most apps have AP scores are optional and unofficial, meaning you don't have to send them.

Schools report what you got on the APs, but it's more of a "Spanish: 5, Literature: 4" type of print-out on, or attached to the transcript. Unless your highschool is really proactive and pays for official score reports, that's all it's going to be.
