Does anybody know how long it takes for an appeal to be processed? Specifically, I'm thinking about appealing a rejection from Cal on the 30th. I'd imagine it has to be relatively quick, with SIR due dates only a month away.

UCs do not guarantee appeal decisions before the SIR deadline. The general time line posted on the website says 3 weeks, but it’s usually a little longer.

You might get accepted in the first place.

My question about appealing is if we appeal and do happen to get accepted will they just send you the acceptance packet or will you get some sort of acceptance letter first ? If anyone has any experience on appeals please enlighten me.

I appealed out of high school and this is basically the process:

You check online and see if the admissions website has received your appeal.

You wait (good time to send in your SIR at another school)

You check online every so often to see if your appeal status has changed.

4a. If you are accepted, your status will update saying “Congrats…” and what not.
5a. In a week or two, you will receive an acceptance packet.
6a. If you choose to go to the school you appealed to, then you have to submit your new SIR to that school and lose your deposit from the earlier one.

OR

4b. If you are rejected, your status will update saying “LOL REJECTED AGAIN.”
5b. Sometimes they might send you a rejection letter like 3 weeks after that. So basically you might receive your 2nd rejection from the school you originally were rejected from.
6b. If you choose to hurt yourself, this would be the step to do so.

haha “Lol rejected again”

^ HAHAHA yah thats funny lol
