i applied to columbia ed, but i was reading a thread and saw that someone said that columbia looks at an applicant's interest in admissions and that they ask people to sign in at the tours to see who actually visited..... over the summer, i visited but i never signed in anywhere, i just showed up and everyone just went to lerner hall to start the information session. so i was just wondering: does columbia actually have people who visit sign in and if they do, is it bad that they have no proof i was there but i indicated on the app that i was? i'm pretty sure this doesn't matter, but i'm just curious.

i never signed in either! i arrived just when the tour group was about to leave.

don’t worry about it.

I seriously doubt that this is even the most remote factor in admissions. What about the thousands of applicants that simply live too far and don’t have the resources to visit Columbia? I’m pretty sure it’s just for statistics.
