<p>For the common app, most of the schools I applied require supplement, and supplementary essays. I am just wondering if it is better to stick with one theme and re-emphasize your point in the supplementary essay or we should strive for variety and display different aspects in the common app essays and the supplem essaay?

<p>variety. you want to show the adcom the different facets of your personality. why would they accept a single-faceted person over a multi-faceted one?</p>
<p>Whichever one is a better essay. If one essay can be waaaay better than the next, write that instead. But otherwise showing more than 1 facet of your life is good.</p>
