Question about applying for financial aid from WashU?

Hello,

I plan on applying early decision to WashU. I'm pretty sure that this decision is set in stone, but my mom wants to get an idea of the financial aid I would get from WashU. She filled out the FFP-EZ form today, but I'm not sure we quite understand what this form is, exactly. Are we going to hear back about this before the ED deadline, or do we not get a financial aid estimate until after I have applied/been accepted?

Sorry, I have absolutely no idea how the financial aid process works, so any information would be great.

Thanks!

You find out about financial aid a few days after your ED acceptance. From what I understand, you have roughly two weeks after that to make sure that your FinAid is sufficient (if it isn’t, this is your time to appeal) and send in your deposit. According to my chat with a WashU FinAid officer, you can be released from an ED agreement if you feel what they offer isn’t enough. He also emphasized that they are extremely flexible and he has never experienced a situation in which he could not meet the needs of a family.
