Earlier in my college application process, my parents were unwilling to submit the FAFSA or CSS since they claimed they knew that they would not receive any financial aid. As a result, I checked off “not intending on applying for financial aid” on my common app for two of the schools which I have already submitted. However, I was able to convince them to eventually submit my CSS and FAFSA to all of the schools which I both applied to and are going to apply to. For the submitted universities which I said that I was not intending on applying for financial aid but ended up submitting the profiles anyway, do I need to email them to tell them that I am now planning on applying for financial aid or will they consider me for financial aid upon receiving my FAFSA and CSS?
Call and ask that to be changed to YES.
@thumper1 would calling or email be better?
Email, then make the phone call to verify that your application has been updated.
@happymomof1 Since the offices are closed, should I still attempt to call them after sending an email to both universities?
Colleges are pretty much shut down until January 2nd.
You can try to call Wednesday…but you might not reach anyone.
