Hey I had a question about the AP exams. I am an international, and I took 4 of them. But my scores weren't great. Do you think it'll still be a good idea to send the scores to JHU?
My school doesn't offer AP classes( though some of the material may be simillar in Chem and Phy)
Calculus BC-3(3)
Chemistry-3
Physics C(Mech)-4
Eng Lang and composition-3

Yes I think you should send them, especially since you essentially self-studied for all of them. Additionally, if you get accepted and decide to attend, you will get credit for your AP Physics C score of a 4.

^Will he also not get credit for Calculus BC? I thought they gave credit for a score of 3 too in Calc BC.

[Credit for Work Done Elsewhere](http://www.jhu.edu/~advising/academic_manual/credit.html)

Yes he will only get 4 credits though since he got a 3 on the AB section of the Calc BC test, he needs a 4 or 5 on the BC test to get 8 credits

Yeah I too say send them because you self-studied for them. Good luck!

i think the 3’s might reflect a little poorly on the OP’s study habits and such (don’t worry OP, I was in the same boat), but SOMETHING is better than nothing; especially since you’re an international. But on the brighter side; I would have to commend you on that physics score (that test was freaking abstract for me; a 4 is awesome).

i found this today, it’s an outline of what scores get how many credits…

wow JHU only takes like math and science ap credits…

^ It’s still takes more AP credits than most top schools :)

If you are applying to JHU you don’t send your AP scores prior to acceptance. You just self-report them.

I have a question! Are the AP scores important in college admittance? How much do they have an impact? Also, my schools did not require students to take ap tests, so I didn’t take two of them. Is that bad??

APs are like a bonus to the application, and although they might help, you can always take the subject tests for some of the APs that you did not take; physics, chem, bio, & math II to be considered some of the important ones. Your school grades kindda vary by the instructor and his/her teaching style. APs and SATIIs are like national tests that are easier to compare with other students b/c their grading is uniform. If you take either the SATII or AP, you should be fine b/c all admissions is seeing is whether you have a firm grip over the subject in comparison to other students from different schools. In addition, if your grade was good in an AP class, you should just consider taking a national test for it.

^^ this makes sense.
