I have a question about UTD’s assured admission for the ACT. According to the university’s website, a 26 on the ACT will mean assured admission into UTD. I scored a 29 on the ACT. However, it was not an ACT with the writing (essay) section. UTD’s website doesn’t seem to clarify (everywhere I’ve looked) about whether or not it requires the writing section for assured admission or in general for the ACT.
Does anyone know whether or not UTD required the essay section of the ACT for assured admission or just in general (general admission)? Thank you!
I think you are fine because they only seem to care about math and critical reading, not the essay. You could call or write of office of admissions to confirm.
I mean does UTD still have " Assured admission for applicants who score combined math/verbal of 1270 SAT or 26 ACT. Completion of required high school coursework required. "
ADMISSION—FRESHMEN
Students graduating in good standing from an accredited high school who have completed the full Texas recommended college-track high school curriculum and who have academic records meeting one of the following criteria will be admitted to UT Dallas.
• An SAT score of 1270 or higher. or
• An old SAT exam format (prior to March 2016) score of 1200 (combined math and critical reading) or higher. or
• A composite ACT score of 26 or greater. or
• A class rank in the top 10% of their high school class.
I also saw that if you meet one of the requirement, you can get into UTD. Is this true?
I believe this year they have removed assured admission with the SAT score. Being in the top 10% is the only assured admission criteria mentioned on the web page this year.
