I'm a sophomore pre-med student, and I was wondering how retakes are factored into the BCMP GPA. I got a D+ in my 2nd semester of calculus, and I'm going to be retaking it. Should I even bother applying to medical school after getting such a low grade?

Every BCPM class is factored in, fail or not, retake or not.

Regarding getting into medical school with a D+, you'd better have a really good explanation for that kind of performance because you may very well be asked to explain. You can get away with a couple of Cs, or several Bs, but I would think that anything lower would ring alarm bells in the adcom's minds.
