Question about being deferred from ED

Hi again, I'm back with another question XD

When a person applies ED, they either get accepted (which is a good thing!), deferred (which is a so-so thing), or rejected (which is a bad thing- I'm not too sure if people from ED get wait listed as well?). My question here is, if CU defers someone, it means they should work on their resume/transcript, right? This means that the applicant still has a chance at RD if they step their application up.

The thing that raises my question is that my guidance counselor said that everyone's GPA in my school is "locked in" after junior year, and senior year grades don't affect our GPA, no matter how well you do and how many AP classes you take. So does that mean that if you get deferred from ED at CU, you can only really work on your EC's and such? Or do some high schools integrate senior year GPA into your overall GPA (which could potentially help a student out?) Or are senior year grades counted separately? I'm taking 6 AP classes next year (my senior year) compared to 4 this year and 2 last year- does Cornell not see the rigor of my course work in my senior year?

Is that unfair? -___-

Thanks.

instead of sending in a formal transcript, cant you just get the registrar's office to send out a formal report card for each quarter?

I guess I could do that. I'm not sure if my guidance counselor would, but I'd have to ask.

Thank you! XD

can you skip your gc all together and just go to teh registrar?

No =</p>

In my school, the guidance counselor is the one who deals with everything college-related to the students. Even if I try, they'll always say "Have you spoken to your guidance counselor? She handles this stuff."

I'm on good terms with my GC though, because she's the adviser of a club I'm the president of, so we talk frequently, and she sort of is easy to persuade XD
