Question about being deferred

Today when i checked my application status, this came up:

"An admission decision is being deferred pending receipt of your transcript showing your current, in progress, semester grades. Please review the institutions listed below; a final, official, transcript must be received directly from each school."

So does that mean that they want to wait until i finish this semester and send them my grades? Is there a possibility they will look at it again before the semester is over and give me a decision?

Because if im not going to get in, i have to start looking for an apartment and schedule my classes for next year, why are they making me wait until the semester is over? i need to know ASAP so i can start planning ahead since i am already behind. Any more details about this process would be appreciated, thanks in advance

This means that they aren’t certain if they want you at their school because they did not like your GPA, sorry. Anyhow, you could call them and ask them to recheck it but it’s probably not going to be effective seeing as they already made a decision on you. Yes, this means that you wait till you finish your semester and send in your grades. If the grades are good then you are accepted and if they are bad then you are rejected. Simple as that. This is a last chance to get in. If you’re going to get good grades then you don’t have to worry about getting in. Well not much anyways. Either way, I wish you the best of luck and hope you get in.

Yeah, they want to wait and see if you can get your grades up. Unfortunately, they won’t be able to give you a definite answer until you improve your grades so you might want to have a back-up plan incase you don’t get into UCF.

are you applying as a transfer student?
My D was deferred. She called and they told her that most transfer students are deferred except those coming from a Florida CC with an AA. They have to make sure they have room for all the CC students first before they look at the other applicants.

thanks for the answers guys. and yeah im applying as a transfer from penn state, and my grades are most likely lower. not sure how lower tho, but i do have a few back up plans, including staying in penn state.
