Question about binding early decision

ok, if a columbia admissions officer happens to see this thread on cc, do you know how EASY is is for him/her to get your IP address to start investigating this situation right now???

WOW, think before you post about cheating an early decision on the internet. just wow

Given the very small absolute annual number of ED admits who seek to renege on their commitment, I suspect the task is simpler than locating IP addresses. I would expect the admissions staff to track every single one, through direct inquiry, to see whether the student actually ended up at State U or Huge Merit Aid U, rather than another Ivy League, MIT, Stanford, etc.

^yaaa exactlyyy!

There was a court case that was settled which does not allow schools to share lists of applicants … however schools can share lists of accepted students … so Columbia is allowed to send their ED acceptences to schools such as the other IVYies and the NESCAC schools (Amherst, Williams, etc) … the $64k question is do they proactively send their list out?

So bulldog, have you still not heard from Columbia’s financial aid department? Are you still two-timing Columbia and Harvard?
