For biology graduate programs like microbiology/molecular biology, would I have to take calc II? I'm just asking as a general requirement I can't find much information on it from any school

Calc II might ruin my GPA so I'm second guessing taking it since I only need to take calc I and stats for my major. My plan is to go to medical school but if that doesn't work out I want to be able to do some higher education after UG.

I only took Calc I, and a few stats courses. There is a recent thread around here about class requirements for bio grad school you might want to read, same basic message. The majority of top schools I looked at or applied to said “strong background in science and math” and “recommended courses”. As I stated in the other thread (and some folks agreed, so it’s not just me here), there are bound to be many exceptions, it seemed like the less competitive programs were the ones with strictly required course lists, which frequently had a full year of Calc, Stats, Physics, O-chem.

As I also said in the other thread (again, supported by someone else’s comment), the exception I came across (and remember) was U Wisconsin Madison’s programs, which are great/competitive and have strict course requirements listed, assuming they actually enforce it as strongly.
