Question about Biology

Through AP/IB exams, I have received credit for two 4 credit Biology classes with lab. The name of one is "Biological Sciences: Cells, Organisms and Genetics" and the other is "Integrated Principles of Biology 1". I understand that I need to take 2 classes at the college level for pre-med. The only other three classes that are under the "Biological Sciences" group of classes are "Biological Sciences: Evolution, Ecology and Behavior," "Integrated Principles of Biology 2," and "Human Physiology." I would prefer not to take the first because I believe the other two would prepare me better for the MCAT.

My question is, would Integrated Biology 2 and Human Physiology together fulfill the pre-med requirement, or would I need to retake Integrated Biology 1 along with Biology 2?

Thanks.

Your college only has 5 total bio courses?

Under the "Biological Sciences" grouping, yes. They go as follows:
Biological Sciences: Cells, Organisms and Genetics
Biological Sciences: Evolution, Ecology and Behavior
Integrated Principles of Biology 1
Integrated Principles of Biology 2
Human Physiology

There are, however, additional 'biology' classes under the groups Animal Science, Microbiology and Cell Science, Applied Physiology, etc. Would any of these groups of classes fulfill the pre-med biology requirement?

The important thing is to have an associated lab.

The first 4 classes I listed have an associated lab.

Then two of those four should cover you just fine.

i did the same as you. i had IB credit and opted out of those waste of time intro classes. take upper bio levels instead because most med schools will not accept IB/AP credit unless you take an upper science in that field.

you should definitely take physiology and/or genetics as your upper bios. those are most useful for the mcat. advanced cell classes don't really help much because you only need to know basic cell bio from the intros.

so for the classes you listed, take that "evolution, ecology, behavior" one and human physiology. an entire class on ecology isn't needed but a lil bit of ecology through a general class is helpful.
