Question about Boston University's Accelerated Med Program

Hi guys!
I had a question about BU's application for the accelerated program. Does anyone know if applicants to the accelerated med program are required to also apply to the honors college? In other words, do you have to complete the supplement for the honors college as well?

Thanks. :)

I emailed my local admissions officer last week asking if I could/should apply to both, and she told me that the honors college has its own separate curriculum that would be next to impossible to complete alongside the medical program. So, just pick one to apply to. Makes things easier - at least it’s one essay you don’t have to write!

By the way, I’m not sure if you know this, but if you’re not accepted to the 7-year program, they will consider your overall application to BU only as a pre-med student.

Good luck! :)

You don’t need to do anything related to honors college on the app.

Currently a first year SMED, none of us are in the Honors College and I think we are specifically not allowed to be in it. Really no point in doing that essay.

Thank you guys! Saved me like 2 hours work! :)

Neoevolution: How is the program going so far? (I know you’re probably still adjusting, etc.)

I was wondering about the stats for students accepted for SMED… Could anyone post them on here? I have a 3.8 GPA and 34 ACT… would that get me an interview? Or, would I be auto-rejected?
