I have a question about the following prompt:

“How did you find out about Brown? For example, from a person, publication, campus visit, etc.?”

We only have 300 characters to answer this question. Is it supposed to be in the style of an eloquent essay, or simply: “I found out about Brown through my friend.”?

At first I just stated that I found out about Brown through the College Board website, but then second-guessed myself and spiced it up… I think some people interpret the question either way, but my guess would be, be concrete and honest, but also tell Brown something that indicates why it’s not just something you heard about and then forgot.

It can be casual or it can be eloquent. Just come off as yourself within the character limit.
