Question about Bulldog Days to current Yale Students

Hi everyone,

I euphoric from my Yale acceptance right now...but I have a question.

I can't attend the Bulldog Days because I am going to visit my aged grandparents overseas during my April vacation, which happens to be at the same time. Though I'm excited to visit my relatives, I'm disappointed that I can't attend.

Did any of y'all (current/past Yale students) not attend Bulldog Days?

Are there other opportunities to explore Yale before next fall?

Thanks!

If you call the admissions office, they might be able to schedule an overnight at Yale outside of Bulldog Days. You can tour the campus and sit in on classes any time school is in sessions. Lots of people don't go to Bulldog Days.

Hey

I didn't go go bulldog days. I actually had never seen the campus until September 1, 2006 when I flew from Washington state with three suitcases and a backpack by myself to New Haven, CT.

I am now a freshman here and I think it was fine that I hadn't come to bulldog days. (Personally, I couldn't afford it). There are plenty of people who don't get to go (aka students who live on the west coast and can't afford the flight) so don't feel like you're the only one.

I do wish I had visited the campus at some point, though, because moving to a place 3,000 miles away by yourself without having ever seen it before it pretty difficult emotionally.

Hope this helps.
