I'm sure this has been asked before but I just can't seem to find where, so I apologize. Anyway, here it goes. I recently logged into the website to check my cal grant application progress, and found out I wasn't awarded the grant the last two years. (I actually didn't know I was being considered the last two years, as all I did was submit my FAFSA application. I figured I had to fill out another application or something) It also showed that I have 0 years of Cal Grant eligibility left, but I've never received any of the Cal grants. Couple things to note,

-I put in my FAFSA application the last two years and received a Pell grant each of those years.
-I got my GED 2003 and enrolled in a CC right after HS for a couple years, but I never received financial aid while attending that school. I've been attending a different CC, my current CC, since 2010.
-I don't have a degree and I'm applying to transfer next Fall.

So my question is this, is there any reason why I would have 0 years of eligibility remaining when I haven't received any Cal Grants? And is this the reason that I wasn't awarded anything either of the last two years? Thanks,

It seems to me that if you meet the age and other requirements, you should qualify for a Cal Grant A or B Transfer Entitlement award. Here’s the description:

What is the Cal Grant Transfer Entitlement Award?

High school seniors who graduate after June 30, 2000, go to a California community college and then transfer to a qualifying baccalaureate-degree granting college may be eligible for a Cal Grant Transfer Entitlement award (also known as the California Community College Transfer Entitlement award). This award is either a Cal Grant A or B. To qualify, you must have at least a 2.4 community college GPA, meet the Cal Grant financial and eligibility requirements, be under 28 years of age as of December 31 of the award year and apply by March 2. You must transfer from a California Community College to a bachelor’s degree-granting school in the award year for which the award is offered.

In order to apply, you would have had to submit both the FAFSA and your CC transcript by March 2. Did you do that?

I hate to say it, but at this point, you probably need to get in touch with your CC financial aid office and see if they can help you.

It seems you may have exceeded the age limit this year:

According to your college confidential profile, you are not under 28 years of age.
