Question About Cal Poly SLO Admissions - Psych

Hi guys. I submitted my application to Cal Poly SLO on October 1st, and I've been nervously googling admissions stats ever since.

I really, truly am in love with this school. It's everything I want. But to be honest, I've really been doubting my chances at getting in.

I applied under psychology - I would have applied under something else to improve my chances, but I figured since it's so difficult to switch majors, I might as well just go for what I'm interested in.

So anyway. I was wondering how much weight is actually put on the supplemental information -- work experience, community service, work related to major, etc.

Because... I know my stats probably won't get me in. But I have TONS of work experience, great community service, and all my work/community service thus far has been related to my major.

If you're interested, I'm almost embarrassed to give my stats out but... here they are. Don't be too harsh please. I know my chances are super low.

GPA: 3.23
SAT I: 1850 (new scores coming in 2 weeks, and I think I did a much better job, so let's say 1990? Might be wishful thinking, but bear with me.)
ACT: 27 (33 English, 27 Math, 26 Science)

Edit: If it helps, I'm a CA resident and I come from a very prestigious high school.

bump to the max :)

Hmmm you may want to try raising the ACT and SAT scores a bit because of your GPA, but you do have a shot.

Cal Poly's admissions are strange and sporadic. I've known people who had above average stats get rejected and people who didn't get into San Diego State and had lower than average GPA's and SAT's. However I've heard that our Psych program is difficult to get into.

Good luck and hope this helps.

bbbuuummmmpppppppp :)

yeah, definitely raise ur stats.
Ur GPA is low, so try raising test scores.

bummmppp number three
