Question about CAP program and advice needed.

So I recently got CAP’d and I really want to go to UT. I was wondering if it was worth doing this program as I am looking to, if I successfully meet the requirements, apply for the College of Natural Sciences at UT. I have been accepted to UTD, A&M, and Baylor. I don’t want to go to A&M because the financial aid offered to me was too lilttle and I’m just not really interested in A&M, I don’t want to go to Baylor because it is a heavily conservative religious school, and I am thinking about going to UTD.

If anyone could give me advice on if I should participate in this program or go to the other colleges I’ve been accepted to, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That would rather depends on what you want to do, what your capabilities are, and what your financial situation is like. For example, if you want to go into Biology at UT and then on to med school. Not a whole lot of point in going to UT if you can go to UTD for cheaper. If you want to go into research, UT might be the better place. Then you have to weigh it against your financial capabilities. And so on with whatever your priorities are.

What major are you considering in CNS?

I think another posts mentions that you want to major in biology. If you are a premed/prehealth student, UTD would be a great place for you. They have a good advising program that if you follow it has an 72% chance of getting excepted into a medical/dental school - about double the national odds. If you just wanted to do biology, I would definitely look at the type research being done and see if anything interests you. UTD seems to have alot going on in the neuroscience area with the Brain Center. You could start at UTD and see how it goes. UT would still be an option to transfer to if you keep your grades way up.
