So hello everyone, haven't been here in a while. I've got two questions.

Do top schools, places like NYU or Ivy League schools, generally even consider applicants from Community Colleges?

How much would a couple of D's I got taking classes at the Cc still while I was still in H.S hurt my chances?

Thanks.

Yes, they consider CC students and accept some of them. I'm a transfer to Wesleyan and we had 4 CC transfers this year.

D's in a CC will always hurt your chances, even if they were in high school. The fact that they were in high school may excuse them somewhat if you've had an upward trend. What is your overall GPA going to be?

Hey thanks for replying.

Well I know the GPA doesn't include the D's if you retake the class which I will so I'm hoping for a near perfect or perfect GPA. I haven't started the year yet as I'm still a senior in H.S. I'm just making plans now.

I plan on really getting into extra curricular activities heavily and having some excellent recommendations. I'm making connections with the influential people throughout the city(politicians) and I'm hoping supplemental recs from them would help me out tremendously.

Anyone else like to put in their experiences?

Just focus on your grades.

Thanks for the info and suggestions fellow members. Much appreciated.
