Question about "Charges Due" on SIS

Hey all,

I'm enrolled in a J Term course that will really help my progression. Charges are listed as due tomorrow. Will i be dropped by the end of the day if I don't pay? There are people on the waitlist; I don't have the funds for another two weeks but could ask for a "family loan" if you know what I mean. Would rather handle it on my own but of course I want to take the class regardless.

If anyone can help with this question I would appreciate it. Cheers.

I am also enrolled in a J-term course, and I don’t think they can forcibly drop you from a course if you don’t pay. Fines are typically the solution for late payments practically everywhere, and it’s probably no different at UVa. I guess you’ll find out whether your suspicions are correct pretty soon, though…

I wouldn’t count on that; contact them ASAP. My brother was dropped from all of his classes a few years ago when my parents somehow ended up paying for me twice and him not at all, and he had to talk to the professors individually to try to get back in to the (mostly full) classes; I think he ended up not being able to get back in to one of them. Unless the policy is different for January classes, you’ll need to pay now.

Well, I didn’t get dropped so far. I think I should send an e-mail or call maybe. I mean, fin aid should post in time for spring classes, which has a due date of Jan 9. Perhaps they can just wait and take it out of that, but I better make sure.
