so, at orientation i signed up for three classes because.. well it was kind of required by my oc? hahaha

anyway, i wanted to take english 4hw but the only way to get into that class was to call and put my name on a roster. so i did that.
is it safe to drop one of the three classes i signed up for at orientation now? or should i wait until first week of class.. they said that as long as i showed up on the first day of english, i would be in it.. but yeah, is it safe to just drop one of the classes now?

there's no reason to drop it now. none at all. you could choose to not buy your textbook for that class, but there's no point in dropping.

personally, i never actually drop a class on ursa if i'm trying to switch. i use the "drop class and exchange for another" button thing. much safer: you don't lose your spot in the first class unless you're for sure in the second class.

in your case, they should add you automatically, so as long as it doesn't put you over 19 units when you have 4 classes, you're fine.

As long as you have honors status and you or your OC made the call to be put on the roster for 4HW, you WILL be in 4HW. It just won't show up on URSA until after you attend the first class session. That said, there is no advantage to dropping the other class early. If you want an ultimate sense of security, wait. But I will assure you that as long as you know you are in the honors program, you will ben in 4HW.
