question about classes at different college

So I'm taking ART 130 at Skyline college in the San Mateo district, which counts for a Group A course in the Art and Humanities section of IGETC. But my main college is CSM, which is in the same district, but ART 130 isn't in the CSM IGETC worksheet because they don't offer that course. I'm wondering if my art class will count for IGETC at CSM. I'm really not sure how this works, so please let me know? Thanks in advance.

I’m also from the SMCCD. I took classes at all the different colleges and never had a problem. I’m like 99% sure if a course fits IGETC at its home college, it will fit your IGETC requirement. I’m almost sure about this, but I’d still recommend asking one of the school counselors. They’re free.

when you finish igetc, your last college will look at your whole college record and determine if you completed igetc. make sure you have, and if your college makes a mistake, confront them and show them that you did

yes, you should be fine. some of the courses differ in the sense that instead of M130 it will say R130A or something of that nature and they are the exact same course. Also, one class might not be offfered at 1 college and offered at another, if it is on the IGETC for 1 then you are fine. I took classes at over 4 colleges and although they had different names, some wern’t offered at others, etc. everything worked out and IGETC was certified no problem.

You are going to be certified for IGETC from the school that you take the most classes at and will need to get official transcripts for ever other college you have attended when you meet your counselor for IGETC certification.
