Question about CODO

Hello! So basically I am planning to CODO into engineering soon. I looked this this link, and only some of them says “students will be admitted on a space available basis”. Does that mean some engineering programs have guaranteed transfer if you meet their requirements? I’m sorry if this is a stupid question… it’s just that FYE is closed for major switching this year but EE is not, and it does not say “space available basis” under EE so maybe there is a connection. Am I just overthinking this?

It varies year by year how much room they have in each major. Students that are in the CoE have priority ahead of anyone trying to CODO.

It is very very difficult to move from school of science to school of engineering at Purdue. If you know you want engineering, do you have any other universities where you have been admitted to engineering?

It’s very difficult to move from anywhere to the school of engineering at Purdue.
No, none of the engineering majors “have guaranteed transfer if you meet their requirements”. The “minimums” and “requirements” listed aren’t really meaningful. You won’t get in if you don’t meet them, but you very possibly won’t get in if you do meet them.

I recall talking to one of the advisors during my D’s freshman year as she was deciding which major to choose. I asked how likely it would be to switch later if she was already in engineering. She said it was possible if she had a 3.8 or 3.9. Maybe. I would imagine coming from outside Engineering would be at least as difficult.

Here’s an article about CODO into CS. I suspect Engineering is at least as difficult. https://www.purdueexponent.org/campus/article_14851194-dd66-11e9-8ea0-1764f0ba0b05.html
