Question about Colgate

I am an international student. Colgate seems like a great college to me. My SAT scores and GPA are similar to the average Colgate one, and hence, I am looking at Colgate as one of my options while I apply next year.
But I have a few questions.

1) I very rarely attend parties, and I don't drink ( personal belief). I know that there is no compulsion to drink, and the fact that most ( if not all) college campuses in America are similar. Is there any substance-free housing available? Some people portray Colgate as an excessive drinking and partying school, when compared to other colleges. Is it true?

2)I am more of a sports+ academics guy. Table tennis and Cricket: 2 sports which I am extremely passionate about, are available in Colgate. But, recently someone on this forum spoke about how drinks are involved in clubs too ( Specific mention- Game's Afoot- Board games ). Is this true for all the clubs

3) Is there a quiz bowl team at Colgate?

Thanks in advance.

1) This is very true. I don’t consider myself the ‘party type’ but I do like to go out, party, drink and have fun on occasion. Colgate has definitely lived up to it’s reputation of being a hard-core party school and I would say being so isolated is one of the biggest contributing factors. It’s hard for those who aren’t drinkers because there’s no where to go on the weekends unless you want to drive 40 minutes to Utica or an hour to Syracuse. Coming into Colgate, I thought I would be able to handle the excessive partying and be able to find my niche, but so far I have been pretty miserable. But then again this is my personal experience and you could be completely different from me!

2) Clubs sports often have ‘pubs’ where the club gets together and drinks and hangs out. In my experience, these are way better than the typical frat parties because you are hanging out with people you actually know and like. Although drinking is extremely prevalent here, no one pressures you to do so, especially in a club pub because you will most likely be friends with everyone.

3) don’t know about 3 sorry!
