Question about college course requirements from ivy leagues?

Most ivy leagues require four years of science math language etc. On harvards site for example it says bio chem and physics with an additional year of a disciplined study in one of these. Freshmen year it was required to take a full year od physical science, then bio sophomore year, then chem now physics. So does that four years count? The only science I haven't taken is anatomy honors. I may have to switch my sociology for anatomy if that's th case bc I already have four units of history. I took a history class at a college.

Senior year schedule-
AP English
AP calculus
Honors trig
Italian four honors
Honors physics
Honors sociology
Gym
Computer

So should I switch the socio? Honestly the courses I'm taking it looks like I wanna go into science or math. However I might want to be a lawyer so idk. I did a law internship so I should go with the law thing for now idk.

BumppppppPp

If you want ivy-you don’t want the bare minimum credits of science, history, etc. You want 4 years in each subject-level 1 or AP & you must excel in all. You can’t use a crutch of getting a B in AP literature. They pretty much want straight As. So diversity & thoroughness apply. You cannot skip a field.

All Ivy League schools require that you understand how to write.

Pursuing a career in law requires strong writing skills.

The Ivy League is an athletic conference. Other top schools are just as strong (and sometimes stronger) from an academic perspective.

When they ask for four years of a subject, it doesn’t mean you have to have taken that subject for four school years. It means you should have four years’ worth of credit for that subject. For example, I took 1.5 years of science my freshman and sophomore years, then 2 years of science my junior and senior years. Thus, I took 7 years of science.

That said, it’s generally a good idea to take at least one math course each year and at least one foreign language course each year (since those subjects generally have consecutive courses, and they’re looking for you to be learning a foreign language, rather than learning the colors in 4 different languages).

I have four years of Italian, four years of English, four years of history. Whether or not I take soc, it will be five. I also have four years of science, anatomy will constitute five. I’m just in between the anatomy and socio

Take whichever you’re more interested in. Both are honors courses and will look about the same on your application.

The wonderful thing about being interested in law is that you can take whatever the heck you want.

The anatomy teacher is so hard at my high school. I had to work my ass off in bio to get an A. He only gives two or three kids As. Idk if I wanna deal with that this year.

How about writing class? I’m taking AP English, should I take the writing elective. I took composition already.
