<p>Hi, I just graduated college a couple months ago. The graduation ceremony is coming up pretty soon, but I was wondering if there is anything I need to get at the ceremony. All my friends go to a different college so there is really no social reason for me to go. Are there any documents given at commencement that I need to obtain? College is closed til next week so any feedback before then is appreciated.</p>

<p>They’ll mail your diploma to you if you don’t bother to go to the ceremony.</p>

<p>Yeah you don’t have to walk, my sister didn’t and she was able to get her diploma through the mail like northstarmom said.</p>

My college does this anyway. Diplomas are mailed up to a few months after graduation, nobody receives them at the commencement ceremony.</p>
<p>Yeah I graduated early. Most people are just graduating now and the ceremony is coming up. I got my diploma in the mail a little while ago. I figured that’s all I needed but wasn’t sure if there is some other memorable thing I get from the commencement. Thanks for replies.</p>
<p>IME grad students/ doctoral students graduated with the undergrads, unfortunately.</p>
<p>At VT each college has it’s own ceremony, and grads/undergrads graduate separately. </p>
<p>If you’ve really got 0 interest in going then you can skip it and you’ll be fine, but I kind of liked getting to walk across stage and all that. Of course, at yours you’d probably walk across stage and get an empty envelope since you already have your diploma.</p>
