I was planning a visit to Columbia this weekend (I live on Long Island, which is a little more than an hour away by train) but when I check the tour dates on columbia's website, it's really vague as to when the tours are. I plan on going in a group of 2 so I don't need to make a reservation or anything.

Do they normally offer regular tours or info sessions on campus on the weekends? If so, are they at regular intervals?

Don’t visit a college on thanksgiving weekend. Nobody’s going to be around – you won’t be able to observe the students in action, chat with them, etc.

I know that :(. Unfortunately, this will be my only free chance to visit so if they ARE offering tours then I’m going to take the opportunity. Any idea if they offer tours on the weekend? Their website doesn’t say and I can’t make reservations any more but since I only have a group of 2/3 I figure it doesn’t really matter

I agree with Columbia2002. If you can’t find time to visit while the students are on campus, it’s likely not worth visiting. You will get a very skewed, unrealistic and depressing view of life as a Columbia student. If you decide to go, do not draw any conclusions from your visit.
