Question about Common App essay

Assume I choose option 1. Many guides have said you should choose an experience that is triumphant and relates to one of your interests or hobbies (i.e., something listed as an activity on your app). But I've also heard that the essay shouldn't repeat something already listed on your app. How do you reasonably reconcile these two (good) points?

Thanks.

Bump . . . .

It is okay to write your essay on something that’s somewhere else in your app, just not in another essay. So if you write your extracurricular essay on a science competition, don’t write your common app personal statement on it, too!

Anything else, just ask!

Best regards,
