Question about commonapp personal essay

Please provide a statement (250 words minimum) that addresses your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope to achieve.

Since this is going to be the same for all of the schools we are applying to, how exactly should we word how we want to achieve our objectives? We can't refer to the school itself because it's supposed to be the same for all of them.

Should I just say stuff like "a university"?

For instance:
"I hope to transfer to a university where I can take a wider range of courses in different academic disciplines, because I desire more of a broad liberal arts education"

"A university that gives me the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of active student organizations would allow me to pursue my interest in public policy"

Any input appreciated.

Thanks,

The Gracken

Yes.
But if your school doesn’t require a supplement “why us” essay, maybe you would use the Application Version, and modify it to fit that particular school.

Here’s how to create alternate versions of your CA application:

Agree w/Mat that if a school doesn’t have a suppl Why College X? essay, you should customize the main CA essay for that school.
