Question about Commonapp Supplement. Help, please.

"Is English your first language? Is English the primary language spoken at home

If you checked “no” to either of the questions above, you are required to take and submit the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). In lieu of TOEFL, students may submit results of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Please click here for further information on these tests."

The above is taken from Boston U supplement.

My answers to the questions are no and no. My first language and the primary language spoken at home is Cantonese. I moved here eight years ago; I have been in CA since fourth grade. I was/am in adv./honor/ap english classes.

Do I need to take the TOEFL? I thought I won't even qualify for TOEFL.

According to the instructions...you have to take the TOEFL...but you should do fine...if you can handle ap/honors english...you'll ace the TOEFL

i think you will have no choice but to take the TOEFL. hwever, you might want to email them to ask for exemption, because i know some schools allow exewmption for students who've had english as a medium of instruction for the past 3/4 years.

btw that's a very nice sn. :)
