You need to ask the financial aid office about this. If the scholarship covers tuition and fees, you may be elgible for other kinds of aid to help pay for books, etc.

You will receive any federal aid that you qualify for regardless of any scholarships you receive. You should get a check about a month into each semester.

^ sweet. When should I apply for fasfa? Is it when our family does taxes? Also, my friend said that you just tell the people that do your taxes to do fasfa, is that it?

If you want to, you can file an estimated FAFSA right now, and then update with the final tax figures when you do the taxes. This year is not the year to wait until April to file your taxes, you should do it the second you have all of the necessary paperwork.

You don’t need an accountant to file the FAFSA. You can do it yourself - almost everyone does. Here is the link: [Home - FAFSA on the Web-Federal Student Aid](http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/)

If you have more questions about this, you should visit the Financial Aid Forum. The people there will be able to help you.
