Question about costs

is 16k enough to live on-campus in residence hall including rent + registration + food + books + supplies + EVERYTHING. how much did you spend a year at ucsd total when you lived in a residence hall?

Are you getting any financial aid at all?

nope, that's as much money i have to choose to allocate to where needed for a year.

You may be able to scrape it all up, but you're going to have to be a spendthrift all year to conserve your money. What I suggest is you either apply for some loans or get some more money with a job over the summer. $16,000 seems very little for tuition/room/spending money.

isn't the 2006-2007 projected cost about 21,000? hmm. maybe i'm off.

16K may not be enough...tuition is about $6700.00, room and board for double is $8189.00 -- rate saver is $7189.00...books and misc will be another $2500.00. Maybe 18K at the minimum would be safer.

Also, are you going to be driving next year? Adding a parking permit ($500) along with gas money (over $3/gallon for Regular in all of SoCal at the moment), you're--unfortunately--going to need to bring a lot more money under miscellaneous.

ooorrrr...you could just do the smart thing and use all your roommate's stuff.....clothes, money, supplies, et cetera, et cetera......If he doesn't approve of this, tell to stop being so greedy and just bring a gun or something, shoot him in the foot....he'll back off once he knows you're serious.

Man I'd hate to be your roomie hobo

You could always rub all your sweat on everything so if your roommate takes your stuff, he'll get some bad case of ringworm.

I hope ur kidding hobo, otherwise ur one jackass

hobo was joking! don't you have a sense of humor? I'd think if you budget your diner dollars, and go to costco and invest in a minifridge and eat yogurt and granola for breakfast instead of some stuff in the d hall you'll be fine...
plus the buses at sd are free...you can get a ride froma friend sometimes, get used books, and take a lot of notes.
