I am an economic major in a comunity college in CA and plan to apply Cornell, Penn, Columbia, UNC, and NYU for next year fall. If all the classes I have taken are according to the IGETC and UC's major require such as econ1,2 Calculus1,2, and Acct1,2. So do I still need to take additional class to meet their requirements or that will be fine when I apply these schools?

It’s to your advantage to take a full course load so that colleges know that you can handle a lot of work. Also, you want to have enough credits to have sophomore standing in 2010. Finally, you will have a bigger pool of professors to ask for letters of recommendation.
