Question about criteria regarding the National AP Scholar award

<p>The College Board website says:</p>

<p>"The Calculus AB subscore, Music Theory aural subscore, and Music Theory nonaural subscore are not used in the AP Scholar Award calculations."</p>

<p>I took 8 APs and got five 5s and three 4s, making me eligible for the National AP Scholar award; however, one of these was Music Theory which I got a 5 on (5 aural subscore/5 nonaural subscore). Does the 5 on Music Theory not count, or is College Board just clarifying that the separate subscores do not count as separate exams? It wouldn't make sense not to count Music Theory and still count Studio Art...</p>
