question about CSU transfer

My friend asked me this question but I can't safely tell her the answer. However, I am sure this board in its infinite wisdom can answer this for me/her.

In the case of CCC transfer to UC, it is certain that your GPA from your CCC isn't carried over to the UC (meaning at the UC you start at 4.0 all over again).

However, what is the case for CSU's? Does your GPA restart again or does it carry over?

Sorry, I didn't see any specific board for CSU transfers. I thought this might be the closest shot.

You have to remember that there are several types of GPA. Depending on the type and number of schools you attend a student could have several GPAs including the cumulative gap, CCC gpa, CSU GPA and the UC GPA.

The UC GPA is calculated only from courses taken at the UC campuses, so students transferring will start with a new UC GPA. However the Cumulative GPA does not start over. Most graduate programs will use the cumulative GPA so you want to make sure to do well in courses at all institutions you attend.
